Skin Laser Process
The latest in technology to reach new heights is the process of skin treatments through laser technology. This technology is also called as laser facial surgery or then facial resurfacing. It is a procedure, which involves the removal of the uppermost layer of the skin. This therapy essentially enhances the skin’s appearance without you actually going through a painful cosmetic surgery. The treatment is so effective that the laser treatment for the skin can actually reduce fine lines that are caused due to ageing, mild scarring, and skin spoilt due to sun damage. The skin can be tightened, pigmented skin can be evened out, and those who have been unfortunate enough to still have a few scars of chicken pox or then due to acne can be removed through laser therapy. How does Laser Therapy Work?
The laser therapy basically makes use of a beam of light, which radiates an intense form of energy to the skin or an area in particular. This technique removes the uppermost layer of the skin and exposes the second layer of the skin. This particular layer is pink in colour and is known as the dermis. After this, a lesser power is used to heat the dermis. This stimulates the skin and the growth of collagen fibres in the skin. After the treatment, the skin starts healing and a completely new skin is formed. The new formed skin is comparatively less scarred and also softer. Elderly people who have wrinkles that are deeper can also make use of this laser therapy.
How is the Laser Treatment Performed?
This laser procedure is usually performed in an operating room or in a skin clinic. Generally the laser treatment is performed using local anaesthesia. If you are undergoing this particular treatment, then you will be awake but as the skin will be numb there will be no discomfort whatsoever. Mostly the procedure will take only a day’s time but then again it will depend on the kind of treatment that you are opting for. As soon as the treatment is done, you will be allowed to go home the same day. Depending on the size of the skin’s area being treated, the laser treatment can take from a minimum of just two minutes to an hour also.
Things to Keep in Mind before Skin Laser Process…
Before the surgery you should try and avoid smoking as the risk of any kind of infection increases.
After the laser treatment, you will be advised to moisturize the area treated.
You will also have to wash the area that has been treated quite a few times with a very mild cleanser.
